Who We Support
As a church we believe that giving doesn’t stop at the campus, so we give 10% of our money to support church plants and missionaries through The Acts 29 Network; and Vision Nationals; . We created this page as a place to see who we support as the Downtown Campus, and to serve as a connecting point to updates from their ministries.
Acts 29 Network
Acts 29 Network exists to start churches that plant churches. God is significantly using our network to influence and shape the church planting culture through both rock-solid theology and contextualizing the gospel. We will not waver on either of these commitments. We won’t water down our theology to reach more people and we won’t attack the culture in the name of Christianity. We are planting churches that are missionaries in their respective communities sent by Christ with the gospel (John 20:21). It is our desire to plant 1,000 new churches in the next 20 years. We desire to make your dream of planting a gospel-driven church come true. We count it an honor to partner with you and to serve you. (from http://www.acts29network.org/about/welcome)
The Resurgence
Resurgence is a movement that resources multiple generations to live for Jesus so that they can effectively reach their cities with the gospel by staying culturally accessible and Biblically faithful.
Resurgence means to rise again, or to surge back into vibrancy. We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ must resurge in every generation to meet the needs of people and their continually changing cultures.
Missional means that we believe Jesus Christ is on a mission to seek and save people, change their lives, and transform their cultures. Because of this we believe that Christians, Christian organizations, and Christian churches exist to join Jesus on His mission by immersing themselves in whatever culture Jesus has placed them.
Theology means that we believe that personal and cultural transformation is only possible by meeting the living Jesus Christ of the Bible through His gospel. Because of this we believe that culturally accessible mission also requires biblically faithful theology.
Cooperative means that we believe a team of missional theologians working together as friends and peers, sharing ideas, and correcting errors is the best way for learning to occur. Because of this we are a network of various Christian leaders, ministries, churches, and networks seeking to work together in providing the most culturally effective and biblically faithful missional theology. Vision Nationals
Vision Nationals began when Jesus Christ called a young man from a Hindu family to follow Him. From the beginning, Arjuna Chilguluri knew that God had chosen him to carry the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Asia. He prepared for this task through prayer and study. After completing his Masters of Theology from Talbot Seminary in 1987, he held teaching and administration jobs while allowing the God who saved him to form the vision in his heart and bring together everything necessary to launch the ministry.
The time came in 1992. Vision Nationals was incorporated, and the ministry began as a single church plant. Master’s Fellowship, the church planting aspect of the ministry, had begun! God was gracious and more church plants followed. Most of the pastors in these new rural churches were Hindu converts with no theological training, and it was not long before Leadership Training Programs began as a means to equip these leaders to pastor the people in their care. In 1996, Master’s College of Theology was founded as the need arose to prepare young people for ministry in a full-time, highly academic environment.
In addition to church planting and training schools, God’s command to care for orphans and widows had weighed heavy on Arjuna’s mind since the beginning. In 1999, God opened the doors, 22 children arrived at a two-bedroom house to start a new life and Master’s Home for Children was born! Out of this ministry grew the Master’s Public School to provide a first-class education for all of the children in the Master’s Home as well as children in the surrounding area who could not otherwise afford an education.
