A Greeter’s objective is to embody the gospel offering a hospitable welcome, supplying equipping information, and giving out weekly handouts as needed. Greeters also assist in regulating the flow of traffic into the auditorium by working to assure people are entering and being seated in an efficient fashion. You are the first point of contact for visitors and you represent Jesus as you extend a warm welcome to those who attend our services.
You are the human expression of our hospitality. During the service you are the keepers of that level of hospitality; we rely on you to keep your eyes out for mothers w/ crying babies, confused or lost people, temperature issues, any threats to security, distractions, and anything that takes away from the hospitality that we are trying to offer visitors in the name of Jesus.
Commitment: Greeters will arrive 30 minutes before service to check in with Greeter Lead, get weekly updates, and join the team in prayer. In special cases, Greeters may be asked to remain until 15-20 minutes after service. Greeter service is a commitment for six months (a year if Greeter Team Lead), weekly or bi-monthly as needed.

| Prayer (after Sunday Services) |
|
The Downtown Campus Prayer Ministry is looking for more people to join the team. Since prayer is such a basic and essential discipline for all Christians, anyone with the Holy Spirit can take part in this ministry and be valuable to people in need of prayer. We currently have attendees coming up front after each service with a wide variety of prayer requests. Some have just accepted Jesus into their lives while others are dealing with simple to complex matters that need to be addressed. We listen to the attendee and then spend time praying with them. In the end, there’s usually a community connection that can be made to further serve the attendee, so we assist in that process as well.
Requirements: Team members must either already be a member of Mars Hill, or currently going through the membership process.
Commitment: Serving on the Prayer Team is a commitment for six months, weekly or bi-monthly as needed.

The children’s ministry of MHC-Downtown is growing with many young children being born in recent months. We are also seeing an increasing number of visitors and believe that God is raising up a strong missional outreach for children and their families in the urban context. We need those who can read to kids, play with toys and pretend with the young.
Also, preparing or helping with crafts, music, and Bible instruction are options too. Having the best possible volunteers to work with our children is our primary goal. Our focus is upon creating a safe and caring environment for each our children and to facilitate their knowledge and desire for God throughout their lives.
Requirements: Certain children’s ministry positions may require membership. Application and background check required.
