The end of June marks the finish of our first fiscal year as Mars Hill Church Downtown Seattle.  What a year it has been!  God has done exceedingly above more than we can ask or imagine and we have seen life transformation around here at a dizzying pace and are expecting more miracles from God this next year. As we draw the fiscal year to a close there are a couple things that need to happen in order for us to finish the year out strong. 

From a budget standpoint, that means we need $743,333 between now and June 30 in order to meet our year’s giving target of just over $12 million.

I realize these large numbers may be difficult to conceptualize, so here are a few more stats to help explain how this applies to our campus:

Downtown Giving Need

•          Campus Giving Target for Current Fiscal Year = $992,640
•          Actual Campus Giving to Date (July 08-June 14, 2009) = $931,327
•          Giving Need for Our Campus Between Now and June 30 = $61,313

Downtown Giving Trends (7/1/08-6/14/09)

•          Total Giving Households = 535
•          Avg. Monthly Giving Per Household = $158.25
•          Median (Middle) Monthly Giving Per Household = $30.91

The median giving number means that more than half of everyone at Downtown gives less than thirty bucks a month or nothing at all. We have much room for growth when it comes to stewardship and spiritual maturity, and now is a great opportunity.

If every household within the Mars Hill family were to give an average of $200 this month, we would make budget. This may be too much for some, not enough for others. The point is, if all of us contribute we can unite as the body of Christ and finish strong together.
