Ice Cube had nothin’ on Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday was a good day. Reflecting on days like that you know Jesus has his hand upon this work in downtown Seattle and is going to continue to build his church. The Spirit of the Living God was moving through the building. People were being born again, dads were baptizing their children, husbands were baptizing their wives and voices were being raised in celebration at concert-decibel levels.

Many of you have been praying since the inception of Mars Hill Downtown Seattle that Jesus would do a new work in the heart of our city and those prayers are most-assuredly being answered. As people who have been changed through the Holy Spirit we should expect nothing less than what transpired on Sunday. It was a flat-out party-type atmosphere.
Total count, we baptized 29 people — 17 of them spontaneously in their street clothes. Family members, best friends, loved ones opened their hearts to Jesus and we probably won’t know the official count until heaven.
Our attendance reached 1052 over the three services, which is mind-boggling considering that when we launched one year ago, we were pumped to have a couple hundred people!
We are at the very beginning. We are just getting a taste of what is to come. God is at work and he will continue to bring people to himself.
May we be people who are continually committing ourselves to the gospel daily — People who are repenting of sin, and trusting completely in the atoning work of Jesus Christ.
“And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.” Acts 2:2
