Connect

As you all know, the final quarter of 2008 brought an awesome series on Song of Solomon. The series had application and teaching for all, but spoke specifically to the immediate concerns of the married listener. On January 31st, at the Downtown campus, we bring you Connect. This event brings teaching by Pastor Tim and nationally renowned relationship-focused author and speaker, Dr. Les Parrott, as well as round-table discussion and Q&A. The content will be geared specifically to issues and concerns of single people, including theological and practical application.

Following this, we’ll head to Jillian’s for chow, pool, fun and UFC for anyone who’s up for it!

Cost is $10 in advance and includes snacks from 2 – 5pm at the campus, free pool at Jillian’s and Dr. Les Parrott’s book, Relationships.

Pre-registration is required. Click here to register…

Business Ministry: Fireside chat with Dr. Les Parrott

We are fortunate to have a unique opportunity for this nationally known author, speaker and co-creator of eHarmony Marriage come speak at our first Mars Hill Business Ministry Event for 2009. This should be a very popular event and a great way to kick off the year!

We will get a chance to hear more about how he combines his strong faith with business success, we can get insights on how to develop better work relationships, and inspirational stories combined with practical advice we could all take back to the office on Monday.

Location: Downtown Mars Hill campus (2333 Western Ave) – downstairs in lounge
Date: Sat. January 31st – 11:45am-1:15pm
Cost: $10 which covers lunch and soda.

Prayer Requests this Week

  • Pray that our church grows in maturity in the area of suffering well and that the Peter sermon series would be a tool in that.
  • Pray that new people continue to come and get connected to relationships and Jesus
  • Pray for protection against false teaching and the schemes of the enemy to thwart what God is doing in Seattle
  • Pray that Jesus would continue to open doors in Downtown Seattle for the gospel to move forward
  • Pray for many in our church community that are experiencing lay-offs and other financial strains

“Theology of the City” on the Radio Waves

Open Doors
Last week I had the privilege of being a guest on the show, “Live from Seattle” on KGNW 820AM.  Any time a door opens to talk about Jesus, particularly on the radio or other media channels, I like to barrel through that door and lift up his name.  The host of the show, Mars [...]
