A Sign From Heaven?

It was an exciting week around Mars Hill Downtown as we got to see, not one sign, but two signs go up on the exterior of our building. We are grateful to a couple donors who graciously gave to the sign fund. Because of our limited budget we’ve had to raise funds specifically for this project, but what a crucial project it is, as I have talked with people in the city on almost a weekly basis that have no idea that 2333 Western Ave is Mars Hill Church.
So, now the thousands of people who drive and walk by our building every day will actually know that we are a church…what a concept! May these signs be used for the glory of God that people will come to know that Jesus has risen from the dead and is sitting at the right hand of the throne of God.

On another Jesus in the city note…I met this week with a good brother, Jace Allen, who is an elder at First Presbyterian Church on First Hill. We got to spend some time praying for each other and encouraging one another as ministers in the city. He began an incredible work in the basement of First Pres, where he built out dorm-style apartments for six guys to live in a one-year internship program. These are guys who have been on the street, addicted to drugs, lost their jobs and are now mentored for a year by Jace in the basement of First Pres. Be in prayer for this good brother and this work. Today, as the snow dumped on downtown Seattle, I heard someone [...]
