Facebook - Network Socially for MHC|Downtown

FacebookIf you are part of the Downtown core and are looking to help promote the establishment and launch of the Downtown campus please consider using Facebook as a means to get the proverbial word out to your friends, family and the Seattle area.

My guess is that many of the DT core are already Facebook users who can join the Mars Hill Church Downtown Seattle Campus group and also rsvp for the Mars Hill Downtown Launches event. By taking these to simple steps you will be letting all of your Facebook friends know that you are part of Mars Hill Downtown and that you will be attending the campus launch. Furthermore you can easily invite friends and family to the event or invite them to join the Downtown Facebook group, even if they do not have a Facebook membership.

If you are not familiar with Facebook it is very simple to start using:

  • Go to Facebook.com and register for an account
  • search for people you know and add them as your friends
  • search for ‘Mars Hill Downtown’ and join the group and rsvp for the event
  • use the ’share’ and ‘invite’ buttons to tell your friends, family and even your enemies about the Downtown campus

Of course not everyone wants to get involved in a social network like Facebook, or you may be intimidated by the unfamiliarity of social networking. Certainly follow your conscience when deciding where to spend your time online (or offline for that matter), but please also consider that using a tool such as Facebook is an easy way to help promote the MHC|Downtown. Moreover it also is a way in which we can engage our city in a major cultural venue of our day much in the same way that Paul engaged the Athenian culture of Acts 17, the scripture from which Mars Hill Church derives it’s name.
